Then, now, and forever……

On this first year anniversary of the earthquake, we send our thoughts and prayers out to all of the families of the victims, the injured, the suffering, the destitute, the homeless, the hungry, the jobless, the lost, the discouraged, and those still suffering the pains of what happened that day – all of us.  May you know and feel the eternal peace, comfort and hope in Christ that transcends these mountains of misery in our lives. Grab hold of Him in the midst of any trial or adversity and He will always see you through the storm, earthquake, cholera epidemic, death, heartache, disease, or problem. God’s Word remains the same.  His promises are true.  He is faithful and gives hope eternal.

Nothing can change that.

Psalms 116:3  The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Psalms 31:9   O’ Lord have mercy on me in my anguish. My eyes are red from weeping; my health is broken from sorrow.

Psalms 22:24 For He has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one, He has not hidden His face from him but has listened to his cry for help.

Psalm 9:9  The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Psalm 34:18  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 48:14  For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Isaiah 54:10  “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

Matthew 5:4  Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Revelation 21:4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

Isaiah 49:13b For the Lord hath comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted.

Hebrews 10:23 So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it, for He Who promised is reliable (sure) and faithful to His word.

Isaiah 41:10, 13  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. . . . For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Psalm 39:7  And now, Lord, what do I wait for and expect? My hope and expectation are in You.
