RHFH employees #3 and #4

This is a husband and wife that both work for RHFH. Rilcane is the only lady left of the original people hired when we started the RC.  They are both great employees.  They have been together since they were teenagers and seem to have a really good relationship with each other.  He helps her wash clothes in the river and helps with house work.  Just a really nice family.

How long have you been working for RHFH?

Riclane: Mai 2002

Nene: November 2010

How many siblings do you have?

Riclane: 3 sister and 3 brothers-they are all still alive

Nene: 2 brothers and 3 sisters-they are all still alive

What work do you do at RHFH?

Riclane: I am the head of the Rescue Center.  I also help with the food box program.

Nene:  I work at the cholera house.  I control the gate and let people in and out.  I also spray everyone down as they come in and out. I carry those that are to sick to walk.

What would you like to see for the area of Cazale to advance?

Riclane: I wish there could be more work for everyone.  If everyone could find a job, they could better take care of their children and send them all to school.

Nene: I think a vocational school would be good for the area.  Also that there would be more jobs.  I think some more white people need to come help Cazale as well, because these white people cannot do it all.

What would you tell a visitor that was coming to Haiti?  What could they do to help the population?

Riclane: I would first say welcome and then tell them I was happy to see them.  I would just like to sit and talk with them and ask them questions.  I would try to encourage them.  I would tell them that Cazale needs better schools and that there are alot of sick people.

Nene: I would tell the visitors to encourage Licia, Lori and Mr Zach.  Encourage them in their work so they do not get discouraged and this will help the area develop better.

Do you like your work?  If yes why?

Riclane:  I like my work and I feel like I am able to help a lot of people.  My works allows my kids to eat everyday and go to school.  This helps me a lot in my life.

Nene: I really like my work.  Everyday I work my heart is happy.  Why?  Because there was not any work in Cazale before and now there are some jobs. The money I get from working helps my family to be able to live.

How did you begin working for RHFH?

Riclane: Madame Zach and Licia had a class for young mothers in 1996.  I went to the class with several other mothers.  I always talked to Madame Zach and Licia and I liked them.  I think they liked me too.  When they were going to move to Cazale, they started taking applications for work and I filled out one.  They hired me to work with the sick kids.

Nene: It was because of Cholera that I found work.  Before cholera if Mr Zach, Lori or Licia needed some extra help for a day they would call me to work.  But it was not permanent work. When cholera came to our area Licia called me and asked me if I wanted to work.  I said anything you give me to do I will do it.  So I work at the gate at the cholera house.

What do you think about RHFH?

Riclane: My friends these white people do so much for us.  We did not have hospital here-we were finished with all the sickness. They take care of the sick.  If someone has an emergency and they have to go to a bigger hospital they give them money to go.  They help many people with operations.  There would be a lot of dead kids because of malnutrition if they did not help.  A lot of the people that live in the mountains areas did not understand that there kids just needed to eat.  They thought it was another sickness that caused their kids to be sick.  So we tell them they just need to feed their kids and not think it is a curse or another sickness that they have.

Nene: These people do a beautiful work.  The work they do with cholera, my friends, if they were not here, we would surly all be dead today.  They take care of so many kids that are sick.  People that do not have food to eat they help them. They do a beautiful work.  I pray everyday for you and for them.  I pray for those that are helping Cazale.  God will look at you and see what you are doing.  Do not be discouraged you are doing a good thing.

I know Riclane better and she is beautiful inside and out. She is a calm and reassuring woman and she does such great work for RHFH and for the Haitian children in the area.

I remember when we thought Darlens was going to die. She came upstairs to the bedroom when he was on oxygen and said that if he was not dead he was not going to die. She was right. RHFH is VERY blessed to have such a wonderful woman working for them.

I’m sure her husband is equally diligent. It is a very good reminder at how very badly the people of Haiti want to work.

Blessings to both of them and all the staff at RHFH.

Thanks so much for getting these workers to tell us about themselves and their work. It is obvious they really appreciate the friendship and work being done by RHFH. I hope to come and volunteer soon and meet some of these wonderful people.

What an awesome testament to God and to RHFH. You all are so blessed to have these ladies and gentlemen who care for you and RHFH. Thank you for letting us get a sneak peek of some of your staff.
