Quick update

I wish I had a minute to write more but don’t today.  The cholera house had 90 patients in it this AM.  90, yes, this non-nurse Licia is a little freaked out today, but we are not telling Lori 🙂  as she is dealing with so much already.  I worked from early morning until a few minutes ago at the cholera house.  In that time peroid I went around and changed IV bags and marked charts and helped out where I could.  There has been 60 gallons of ORS solution made since 6am.  It is all gone.  Thet patients have drank that much in 6 hours.  The nurses are working hard to get IV’s in those that are worse.  There were about 20 some that went home this morning.  Dad is on his way in town to get more supplies.  The Livesay’s and Heartline are giving us some much needed cots to be able to put more patients on.  Dad will be buying some more if needed.  World Wide Village is sending out a nurse from one of there teams to work the night shift this weekend. Heartline sent out a nurse Thursday as well.  Dad has several stops to make around Port today to buy supplies here in country.   So many sick people.  Lots of kids today as well.  I wish you could stand in my shoes just for a minute to hear those that are thanking God for YOU!  I tell them and they are amazed that people all over the world care about them.  An older man this AM got to the gate on a stretcher, and just began to weep, over come by emotion, He keep saying I am not good but I know now I will live I have made it to “kay Zach” (Zach’s house)

Dr Jen has been helping us out with so many things.  She is working hard to get any supplies and medications that we cannot get here in country.  She is purchasing them and finding people to hand carry them into Haiti. Then papa Zach meets up with people all over Haiti to get the supplies to the cholera house.  It is amazing how many supplies and medication that we have been going through.  Dr Jen is working on getting some more meds and supplies into us right now.  These meds and supplies are things that we really need.  It is such a joy to have Dr Jen doing this for us.  I do not have much time to do anything right now but try to keep everything running as smooth as I can without Lori here.  I do not have time to figure out how to purchase these meds, let along how to get them here.  She is taking time from her busy work schedule to do this for RHFH.  It means so much to us.  Please see her blog from today and consider giving to our current need of medications and supplies.  Dr Jen will be ordering them for us and figuring out how to get them here to Cazale.  RHFH is 100% behind her in this project to raise funds for supplies for the Cholera outbreak.  Please consider donating to this need for us at RHFH.
