How to Help Today :)

Cholera patients and Rescue Center numbers are higher than ever before and its a day to day struggle to keep up with the needs of all their care entails.  We so appreciate all the prayers that are being sent our way at RHFH for all the staff, patients and volunteers.  Seriously.  With that having been said there are many needs that can easily be met to improve the situation here in Cazale and we have until next Friday to collect as many supplies as we can to get on the next container out here.  We have set up a wish list on Walmart with a list of our greatest needs as of right now.  The wishlist is set up so that donations can be purchased online and they will be sent directly to the address where they need to be to make it on the container.  If you are able and wanting to make a donation to RHFH please follow the steps below:

1. Go to http://www.walmart.com/

2. Click here for  “wishlist” under the Registry tab

3. Type in First Name: Davis and Last Name: Zachary and press “find”

4. Once the wishlist comes up click on the name and a list of all the needs will be available for you.  Choose the items you would like to purchase and write how many you are wanting to buy. Once you have chosen everything scroll down to the bottom of the page and press “add to cart.”

5. Proceed to checkout 🙂

6.  You can also choose site to store pick up and Debbie will pick the supplies up there in MN

If you are not wanting to purchase your donations online there is a list of things that we could not find at Walmart or were not available online which need to be purchased and sent to a warehouse in Minneapolis so they can get on the container.  The container will be packed soon so all donations must be purchased and sent no later than Friday, August 1st.  The online wishlist automatically updates when items have been purchased, but for the rest of the donations we would love to be able to keep track and update the list as needs are filled… so if you buy something on the list below and send it to the address please email me (Anna) at annainhaiti@yahoo.com and let me know what you bought!  Anything not bought on the Walmart wishlist should be mailed to:

Debbie Woodward
Northrup King Building
Main Office
1500 Jackson Street NE
Minneapolis, MN 55413

We cannot even put into words our gratitude for all your support.  The prayers and donations are every day needs here and saving people’s lives.

    Hi Anna,

Two things — Do want plastic pillows or plastic pillow case covers? Also, I’m willing to pick up at the Brooklyn Park, MN store if people want free shipping through Site-To-Store. You will need to add my name to the list of people who can pick up.

  2. Laurie says

Maybe it’s just my computer, but walmart.com can’t locate your wish list. I followed your instructions, but it keeps saying, “Timeout for your search, you may need to narrow your search criteria.” ??? Anyone else having trouble?

  3. Debbie Woodward says

Yes — we had trouble all day yesterday. However, I then went to wish list and typed in Debbie Woodward and it comes up Davis Zachary and Debbie Woodward. Please try that.

I also have a list for infant formula and diapers at http://www.target.com. Go to the baby registry and type in Debbie Woodward. Free shipping for orders over $50. Note that everyone in the cholera house wears diapers and ADULT diapers are needed as well as infant formula (0-3 months and 0-12 months) for the Rescue Center.

    THANK YOU for you help.

    Debbie,

I am coming to Minneapolis on Saturday to and can bring you several dozen
pillowcase dresses. I am helping WWV with the Warrior Dash Event. I can leave the dresses with them or arrange to get them to you on Sunday before we head back to Brookings. My cell # is 605-690-5508.

    Hi Debbie,
I have a lot of gently used bottles that my then newborn barely used because she was gassy and needed a specific brand. Could I send them to you? I am also donating formula, which I know is needed.
Thanks for giving us the opportunity / medium to help the Haitians in need.

  6. Debbie Woodward says

    Hi Carol,

We have a dinner obligation but feel free to contact me on my cell phone at (612) 363-5612. If you know anyone else that wants to pick up some items and you want to bring them with, feel free to do so.

    THANK YOU!

    Debbie

  7. Debbie Woodward says

Yes – please send the bottles to me and thank you in advance for the formula. I would love to see if people could host a “Baby Shower” for the babies at the Rescue Center. It would smooth out the supply needs and help Licia and Lori get through the inconceivable amount of work involved in the clinic and cholera house.

People could chip in and provide formula for one year, bottles, some diapers, hair and body wash, lotion, powder, a bumbo seat, some baby food for when they get a little older. If we could get this on a container, the nannies in the Rescue Center do an excellent job with the children and Licia would not have the heavy burden of trying to figure out how to get all the supplies to feed the children.

It would be nice to have enough for about 20 babies to start. If anybody is interested or has any questions, please e-mail me at debra_woodward@msn.com.

    Items can be sent to me at;

    Debbie Woodward
    Northrup King Building
    Main Office
    1500 Jackson Street NE
    Minneapolis, MN 55413

  8. Laurie says

I am sending a box of socks, infant clothing, shorts, baby hats, some baby lotion & wash, & some medicines. I will mail it tomorrow. :o)

  9. dawn says

I cannot get either to pull up. Any other thoughts?

  10. Debbie Woodward says

    Hi Dawn,

Are you referring to going to Walmart and Target?

I had to try these steps:

    http://www.walmart.com

click Registry and scroll down and click Wish List (sometimes the baby and wedding cue comes up. If so, go back and click on Wish List.

Type in Davis Zachary and if that does not work go back and type in Debbie Woodward. The Wish List for Real Hope For Haiti is listed as a combination Davis Zachary AND Debbie Woodward. There appears to be another Debbie Woodward in a different state.

    Order off the list.

The Target list is in the BABY REGISTRY at http://www.target.com and is under Debbie Woodward.

If none of those work — really we need infant formula of any brand and size but it should be for INFANTS — 0-3 months or 0-12 months. I also havn’t received any baby powder which they use all the time to keep them dryer in the tropical heat. Baby lotion, baby hair and body wash, diapers of all sizes– just follow the basic list.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions. I’m at debra_woodward@msn.com

  11. Kris in San Diego says

For anyone thinking of donating diapers:

Babies R Us is running a two day promotion, today (Sunday, July 24th and tomorrow, Monday July 25th) for $5 diapers. A Fisher-Price Happy Days 42 Count Diapers, normally $10.99, for example, is temporarily $5. Orders over $75 qualify for free shipping.

Here’s a whole write up explaining how to get the deal, and a way to get free shipping too if your order is under $75:
    http://www.frugalcouponliving.com/2011/07/24/babies-r-us-5-diapers-shipped-july-24-and-25/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+frugalcouponliving+%28Frugal+Coupon+Living%29

  12. Kris in San Diego says

Correction to my notes above on diapers: Because diapers are heavier/bulkier to ship, the “Free shipping” offer doesn’t completely cover them– it does make them less expensive to ship, though.

Get in touch with Debbie if you can order in the next day!

  13. Anita says

my daughter and i were hoping to make some baby caps- are they still wanted/ needed? where to we mail them?
    many thanks,
    anita

  14. Lori says

    Hi Anita,

Yes, we can use these for the infants in the RC and the newborn in the clinic. We have an address for you to send the baby caps, but we prefer not to post it on the internet because it’s a private home. I’ll email you the address. Thanks so much! Lori
