Jn Edward had a few rough days last week. He passed lots and lots of worms. He passed out one day. He has been having pain in his abdomen since he first arrived and lots of swelling. He was finally stable enough to travel into Port-au-Prince last Thursday to get a sonogram done so we could get a better idea of what is going on.
The sonogram wasn’t conclusive on one certain diagnosis, but we feel that it is most likely tuberculosis. This is an infection that usually attacks the lungs, but can attack other areas of the body as well. He’ll need to take the medications for one year and we will keep him here during the entire treatment to make sure that he completes treatment. There are several other things going on with him as well and we are keeping our eye on those too. We are hopefully that tuberculosis is the cause of his symptoms and the treatment will begin to correct those soon.
Would you join us in prayer that Jn Edward will recover from his illness. He is a very special little boy that needs lots of love and encouragement.
