35,462 in 2011

We are so very happy to share with you the individual touching stories and incomprehensible struggles of the people that we serve here, but sometimes it’s good to step back and get an overall look at what is being accomplished by God people with God’s provision for His glory.

In 2011, there were 35,462 consults that were done through the clinic.  Out of this, there were 12,365 peds consults and 3838 prenatal consults.  There were 520 newborns in 2011, which averaged out to about 43 per month.  There were 8990 new patients, but most were return patients at 26,472.  I know most people won’t be able to see this chart on their computers, but there is a link below.

We buy pallets of medications from organizations that supply missionaries and other charity hospitals and ship them in on the container to ensure our supply is enough for the demand you see above.  This year, we will be shipping two containers.  There was one shipped in the spring and it is already unloaded.  The medications are being used and are helping out thousands of people.

This year, we have the opportunity to purchase 18 pallets of needed medications and supplies for a good price.  The fair market value (or the regular cost) of these meds is $180,242.  The pallets contain vitamins, soap, antacids, tylenol, and ibuprofen and weigh a total of 14,476 pounds.  This huge amount of supplies will last us until the next container. We will be able to share with other missionaries also.  This shipment will ensure that thousands of people receive good health care.

Could you consider helping get these medications to those in need?  The total cost for us is $7150 and we are hoping that there might be people, groups, or churches that might want to donate towards the purchase of these needed supplies.  If you are willing to give, please use the paypal button on the right hand side of the blog or mail a check to RHFH, PO Box 23, Elwood, IN 46036.  Make sure to include “meds” in the instructions or memo line so that we can track what has been given and include it in getting closer to our goal of good health to thousands in rural Haiti.  Thank you 35,462 times!

I’m speaking at a church July 21st. I will see how many people there want to give for this cause. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing the break-down of all you do. I for one down-loaded the sheet and read it, so amazing the simple but necessary treatments you provide. (Some not so simple) If you and the staff were not able to be there…well, so many would loose. Thanks for loving God and loving those whom you are fortunate to serve. And thank you for choosing people over the things sacrificed to live where you do.
